HOW TO MEASURE SUCCESS

"How we measure the transformation of the Most Vulnerable children who are saved from abuse, those taken back to school, those introduced to Performing Arts education, the impact of Menstruation Hygiene Convensation.

WE DON'T COMPROMISE CHILDREN COME FIRST

Walkfree empowers street connected children by providing education opportunities and free performing arts education. The program also instills life skills in them, so they are able to grow and thrive.

Walkfree Children's Foundation has a clear Theory Of Change

" How much do we transform the lives of the Most Vulnerable Children."

Our effective evaluation plan begins with a clearly articulated theory of change. This theory presents our rationale for how team's work will drive positive change in our children. Our theory of change flows from our mission and contends that educational supports and Performing Arts are critical to helping children escape from poverty.

Children connected and independently living on the streets of Masaka are majorly orphans coming from a poor background and brings about a broad range of problems in physical/biological, cognitive/academic and social/emotional development. In Masaka, vulnerable children especially orphans are excluded from the community support systems and resources that exist to help children with these needs. This worse because most families in Masaka face multigenerational poverty.

Walkfree empowers the Most Vulnerable Children by providing education opportunities and free performing arts education. The program also instills life skills in them, so they are able to grow and thrive.

Walkfree approaches its work using a socio-ecological lens, meaning that:

1. The interests of the child take precedence in all programmatic decision.
2.
Parents play the most meaningful role in shaping a child’s experiences

3. Schools & Performing Arts Centers play a central role in children.
4. Community resources and public policies are key to ensuring resources and services are accessible to children.

This perspective is critical to understanding the complex factors that contribute to a child’s success, and it provides an evidence-based framework that guides the design and implementation of the Walkfree’s initiatives.
