Our Art is empowering Children to Protect themselves!
After training our kids in Drama and Acting for one year, Walkfree kids have demonstrated that short films are an effective way to deal with many sensitive issues. In these Teen Series videos, Walkfree Kids use stories that are relatable to everyday experiences that children face. These videos have assisted many kids that have suffered abuses but for one reason or another have yet to disclose the abuse. The healing of abuse can begin once a victim discloses the abuse to a trusted adult.

In our short film's lessons, the relatively complex facets of abuse prevention and intervention focus on two basic elements: children must understand and recognize abuse, and they must know that they have the power to stop it. From this foundation, each lesson continues to build a comprehensive skill set and provide tools and confidence children need to stay safe.
Kids get to know that it is okay to make a scene to protect themselves, and that they can say “NO” to an adult or peer they do not trust or are with in an uncomfortable situation
Our Art is keeping children to stay in school!
Our supporters of our performances like you have supported us to go to school, learn, thrive, become leaders and change makers in our communities. These activities catalyze the power of the most vulnerable children especially girls to create the future they imagine for themselves, for their communities, and for Uganda.
Together, we can ignite the world-changing power of girls’ education: Girls excluded from education become women excluded from decision-making in every other sphere of life.
We tackle poverty and inequality by providing the financial and social support underprivileged children need to learn, thrive and lead. We see education as the route to systems change.
We have established an Academy of Performing Arts
Walkfree Children’s Foundation’s Performing Arts Ordinance in 2023 is to establish the Walkfree Kids Academy for Performing Arts (KAPA), the first ever Performing Arts School in Uganda.
The school has started without school buildings and is leading the path of Performing Arts Education in Uganda. It provides children afterschool with practice-based studies in Music, Dance, Drama, and Film and Television classes. Our educational philosophy reflects the cultural diversity of Uganda with emphasis on African traditions, Afro-culture and interdisciplinary learning. Because Talent requires academic education, we sponsor our selected most vulnerable children for their Primary Level and Secondary Level Education and receive them later at weekends and within their holidays.
It's Time we Normalize Menstruation
We mostly hear myths about menstruation as Ugandan. Often, these myths lead to young women to feeling embarrassed and out casted for experiencing something that happens to them every month.
Conducting Menstruation Hygiene Conversations in schools
It is time we normalize menstruation!
It’s time we normalized menstruation and find pride with walking out of a classroom full of boys and see no harm nor embarrassment about flashing our pads just so it suits best for boys, men or the society.
